I have just tested, and can confirm that when the content type is
text/xml, it does indeed produce <myTag needsToBeHere=""/> when the
expression evaulates to an empty string, and removes the attribute if
it evaulates to nothing.

So, everything acts as expected and by the spec as far as i can see
:)
