Have you gone through the zope online tutorial? There is a part on Elvis
sightseeings that might help you. Also, the zope book has probably all you
need for a basic application.

You can store your events in many different ways and easily show them with
zpt.
But I'm afraid you've to be more specific with your problem for us to come
with a meaningfull answer.
