The Kompany has added to its latest version of Quanta Gold the beginnings of native support for Zope and Python Web application development. This includes the ability to access a running Zope server through an integrated FTP client and directly edit DTML objects and Python scripts. The first phase provides customizable syntax-highlighting for DTML and Python, as well quick access to the "_" namespace functions and the math, string, and random modules. With each release, more integration will be available, for things such as Zope Page Templates and XML. Quanta Gold is a cross-platform Web application environment available for Linux (x86 & PowerPC), Windows (NT/2000/XP, etc.) and MacOS X. It's similar to Allaire Homesite with tight support for open source Web platforms such as Zope, PHP, Python, and Perl. It provides extensive code-editing facilities, advanced CSS support, project management capabilities, CVS integration, markup validation thanks to TIDY integration, instant rendering previews, fast DOM parsing and node-based editing of markup documents, and extensive reference documentation. Suggestions and feedback are welcomed from the Zope community. More information can be found at http://www.thekompany.com/products/quanta/
