I'm unable to reproduce this under Wine using Python 2.7, but I can reproduce this in Linux with Python 2.6. It's got nothing to do with \r\n. I managed to not notice that SyntaxError: invalid syntax and SyntaxError: unexpected EOF while parsing were different error messages!
