**Darn**; I pressed the send button on my mail client by accident while still working on this one. Ignore the last message. I think the error is to do with the way that ZPatterns.Transactions.Reporter doesn't do anything special for subtransactions. On committing a subtransaction, it commits the top-level transaction that it knows about. Then again, I'm new to the way ZODB handles transactions, so I might well be wrong here.
