Alex's change was a simple mistake. He works with packages that use both styles. There wasn't any subversive intent.
Jim evidently has been doing it for a while too; there are a bunch of packages changed. I understand no subversive intent was intended. But this is also a good moment to reflect on how the policy ought to be maintained, and how we can prevent this from happening too often. Regards, Martijn
