[Zope] SyBaseDA and select count problem

It seems that whenever I try to use any of the following: select count(*) from <tablename> select count(<columnname>) from <tablename> it returns: "Error, exceptions.ValueError: Empty column name, " Of course, the sql is tested and known to work.
