The only thing DC can do is ban people not on the list from posting, not a bad thing in my mind (though even that is unlikely to stop it completely).
Note that any email to the mailinglists that doesn't specifically address the mailinglist in a To: or Cc: header is held for moderator approval. This is how we net most of the spam.
