If I understand correctly, I think the likelihood of the same id being chosen is very low; that said, I think the generateId() method is also designed to reduce likelihood of conflict errors (though not entirely eliminate) by having each thread or ZEO client likely writing to different buckets (thanks to random initial id per thread, plus sequential behavior afterward for so many ids).
