This means you are trying to delete a CatalogAware object that was not entered into the catalog. (Some have argued that this is a but, some a feature). To get around it, you can probably just call the URL
/icds/Members/bob/index_html/index_object
and then do the delete.
If that fails: http://www.zope.org/Members/Bill/Documentation/CatalogBadness You could also delete the Catalog, delete the Item, and Undo the Catalog Deletion.
