I have seen this occasionally when I display text from Filemaker Pro text exports. The problem has been existence of unusual characters like Control-O. I believe it is interpreted as possibly binary data. The same sort of characters cause "not well-formed" errors if I attempt to parse a perfectly-well-formed xml representation of the same data. -- Jim Washington
