Very close, try: <dtml-let channel="'slashdot'"> <dtml-with "channels[channel]"> etc... </dtml-with> </dtml-let> Everything in "" is Python, and since you wanted to make a variable equal to the string `slashdot', you have to put single quotes around that literal string.
