[Zope] timout-problem

      Dear zope-specialists

i have a zope-problem:

When i do some task in the www-zope-interface, which needs a lot of time (i.e. 
to build a large ZCatalog) then zope gives message:

  server timout

Questions:
* Is it possbile to change the timout-parameter?
  If so, how can I do it?

* Is it possible to to some task on zope-objects completely outside the 
www-zope-interface.
I mean: I write an external python-script an do some calculations with the 
objects.
If so, how have i to do the connectins python -> zope?
