Well I guess there's two good routes: 1) redesign the C splitter to be more generic and configurable 2) specify the object interface and provide a generic splitter written in python for others to subclass and customize I'll talk to Rob about what we should do. -Michel

I assume you can get around in Python? If not I can point you to some good starting material and I'd be glad to answer questions. I'm in Brazil and a better splitter is a real necessity (and I'll probably be running yours by the end of the day). Count on me to continue development and support you.
