I am a member of a LUG where the mailinglists also are availiable through NNTP. And that works just perfect :-) I get the messages through the news server which means that my inbox doesn't get overloaded. In my news agent I can reply directly to the one asking a question "off the list" so that doesn't change from what we have now.
the full public glare of the list is not always what you want to do. I know how stupid I feel when I have posted something and then gone Doh! thats wrong :-)
Its great to be part of such an active and enthusiastic community and I hope that it continues to evolve and expand. It would be great if productivity could be enhanced as well. Certainly following threads would be of use to me!

I agree completely with you Chris. I don't think the possibility to have the mailinglist should be removed. But there should be an option for using a NNTP server. Most of the time I only check my work account (where I recieve the Zope mail) when I'm at work. So guess what I am doing all monday :-) If I could read the messages through news I could just delete the threads that I wouldn't be interested in. Much quicker. Also the possibility of deleting messages before they actually are posted is a Good Thing. Just my $0.02 ... Gitte Wange
