BTW, the 2.3.1 QuickStart page gives a heads up about this phenomenon. The best solution is (I think!) to upgrade to the latest IE. Casey Duncan wrote:

Same result with both Zope 2.2.6 and 2.3.0, even with a completely fresh clean installation. I had no problems like this on an NT4 server.
I'm out of ideas - anyone have a solution?

What version of IE? There are bugs in 5.01 and early 5.5 releases that caused a problem like this.
