Though your copy may end up needing repair after the fact; backup in this sense is not transactional. DirectoryStorage has the best answer for this at the moment (better than FileStorage), in that it supports snapshots, has a built-in backup tool, and has a secure network-replication tool as well. if I want to backup Zope I must copy Data.fs but, must I shut down Zope every time I need to do that?
Nope. It's perfectly safe to copy the Data.fs of a running server. --jcc _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope@zope.org http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )
