What I found to be the answer: Install Python 1.5.2 on your machine AND remove Python 1.5.1 (if it's in your path). (BTW I wasn't clear on this from the download. 1. Check out the pcgi sanity checker to verify you have everything set correctly:

2. Check your Apache logs.
