I have had way too many bad experiences with MS SQL 7.0. Here are just a few. 1) It is a pig. It wants at "LEAST" 128 MB for itself (NT wants another 128) 2) It is not stable. Ask most NT network admins and they will admit to having a 'AT' command to reboot every night. 3) It is proprietary and subject to too many bugs/security holes. If IIS, ASP, Office and Outlook have taught us anything it is that security is not number one on the list of priorities for Microsoft. Can you say "ILOVEYOU?" Here is why I like PostgreSQL 1) It is stable. It goes up and stays up. Period. 2) It is Open Source. Many eyes means less bugs and less security holes. 3) It is easy. It comes installed on RH 6+ and is ready to go. Many more but I am probably opening this up to a huge debate that I do not want to. In the end, use the tool that you are comfortable using and fits within your overall plan. J

MS SQL 7.0 I will not comment about since I would never run a production website with that product.
