[Zope] dtml-in question

I have a situation where I'm searching a catalog for items which meet a criteria. The results are listed on one or more pages (using the batching feature of dtml-in). What I want to be able to do, but don't know how to do, is get the total count of items found. For example, when the first batch is displayed, I want to display a message which says something like xx results found. 1-10 displayed. How do I get the total number of items found from the search?
