The problem (and you can find my posts in the archive if, for the love of god, you can help me) is that in Zope 2.6.4 and Zope 2.7 FTP downloads are, for no discernable reason, limited to 10k/sec. The Python process goes to 100% CPU (60/40 user/system) for as long as anyone is connected. Multiple people can connect, but they all get 10k/sec tops.
Nobody else has this problem.
Hmmm... sounds like it's profiling and pdb time... rather you than me...
We are using FTP to offer our clients WYSIWYG editing of content with Dreamweaver.
What I'd suggest is getting WebDrive (http://www.webdrive.com/products/webdrive/index.html) on their client machines and connecting to Zope via WebDAV. Much smoother all round... cheers, Chris -- Simplistix - Content Management, Zope & Python Consulting - http://www.simplistix.co.uk
