[Zope] newbie: Question on Folder Workflow

Question: Within 'folder_workflow', is it possible to change the initial state of 'visible'? If it is possible, how can set the initial state of a document (or any other objects) to a state of 'hide' instead of 'show' ? I am stuck on how to change the initial state of an object in the 'visible' state. In other words, I do not want any content to be accessible by URL or search unless it has been approved to be 'published'. Feedback is much appreciated. Paul.
