[Zope] Getting pictures from filesystem

Hello, I need to display some pictures in a zope site. These pictures are located in the filesystem in Zope's var dir. (There is a reason for this and it cannot be changed). I was wondering if I could create some sort of external method or something in order to get the content of the image file.
