Thanks for the response Andy, To answer your question for your own dev-notes for the next release (which may be when? not to rush but... : ) There is only admin... me, myself and Jim Carey acting like an ass in the background. I only have the single user for doing all the work. I made this user with the zpasswd.py command into inituser. So you are saying the bobobase_modification_time is something latched into the Zope Object? So should you not be correct in assuming that it is in every object? or... The fact that I have some non-zope added objects that were ftp'd in via ZFTP? I've put in all DTML Docs (.html and .smil) I'll try a test to see if deleting them does the trick. But otherwise, should I be searching and looking to put in these bobobase_mod_times into each object? I also want to say that ZSyncer is a good product.
Thanks.
It worked for a while until it started giving Authorization problems. One after another. Like I dont know my own password : S
Hmmm... I havent had Authorization change on me like that. Thats strange, basically it does Basic Auth and also checks that the parent folder has the right to delete and import. The only reason I could see it doing that is if it is somehow getting confused in the Auth. Did you sync around any new user schemes?
Fault <Fault -1: 'Unexpected Zope exception: bobobase_modification_time'>
Ah, I had naiveley assumed all objects would have a bobobase_modification_time. Perhaps that isnt the case? I will fix that for the next release. That error occurs when it is calculating the object information for your destination Zope. Another problem that has cropped up is with products that override traversal... Oh well thats why I released it, thanks for trying. Hi Andy,
I also want to say that ZSyncer is a good product. I just saw you mail on it this morning, and Im putting it in now. I REALLy could have used it yesterday when I compressed the Data.fs file from 150mb to 11mb.
Anyhow, I'm trying to use it now and I get problems. I took a clean Zope install on a separate machine and Got ZSyncer working. It basically found everything as out of sync. So I updated the whole bit.
It worked for a while until it started giving Authorization problems. One after another. Like I dont know my own password : S
Anyhow, I got sick of it, so I bascially copied the the whole Zope-232/var directory from one place to another. So basically they are identical, and I want to test it out by changing one thing, which I do.
Now all I get from ZSync is:
Fault <Fault -1: 'Unexpected Zope exception: bobobase_modification_time'>
Note that on one server I get the tags around the error, on the other I just get 'bobobase_modification_time'. Both machines are identical SGIs with same everything down to the lingerie.
Any ideas?
Thanks very much, Paul Zwarts

If you wish to copy Zope objects around take a look at ZSyncer, its built exactly for that http://www.zope.org/Members/andym/ZSyncer. For copying files between file systems we use a source control system such as cvs or perforce.
Hi to another BC zopista!

Hi, We have Zope running on a RedHat box at a different site. I am building a dev box that I would like to recreate the same senario as on the production machine, which I would prefer not to take offline (but could if necessary).
What is the best method of replicating to the 2nd machine (what files to copy, etc)?
Once changes are tested etc, can I just reverse the process to move it back?
