The standard approach is to use Zope behind Apache via mod_proxy to e.g. cache Zope pages. I don't see what the benefits of your idea. If I want Zope to my primary web server, any problem running it at port 80, and apache at 8080 for things like static files, mailman, etc.? (Flipping their usual ports.)
I know it'll work, but I guess I'm asking if there are any downsides to this plan.
