BTW/FYI it throws an ErrorType: TypeError "not all arguments converted"
I think it trys to format 'blah' using 'format', not the contents of the format variable, as in
"format" % "blah" Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in ? TypeError: not all arguments converted
Use a script if you want to get the format from a variable.
