Others beat me to the punch: read the Zope Book online. Also, have you at least got Zope installed and have logged into the Management Interface? Your membership/login needs may be solved by what Zope provides out of the box. I also have found Beehive's Book of Zope (ISBN 1-886411-57-3) a good introduction, but no one text is going to give you all the answers. You have to get your hands dirty and start building. I saw your post on zope-dev and one reply that said 'give up, learn Zope when you aren't under the pressure', but I disagree. I built my first Zope application (not just content) under deadline pressure, and it was a good way to learn "how do I do this with Zope?" Best of luck!
