[Zope] defining object types

Does Zope support strict data/object typing? If so, what's the syntax to instantiate an object of a given type? The only reference I could find that's close is <!--#call "REQUEST.set('variable',value)"-->, but what if you don't have data to place in the object yet and still want it to be a certain type?
