I tried to use ZopeTime earlier, but I could not get it to produce valid object IDs; Zope complained about invalid characters.

I used 'D'+_.str(ZopeTime().timeTime()) for random folder names; of course I assume that the directories are made less often than the clock resolution. A counter method is probably better.
