Thanks for the tip Stephan, I have done as you suggested, assuming that 'var/serve.pid' is the file in question. I have also done 'chmod o+w var/serve.pid'. However, this doesn't help. I notice a file 'var/Data.bbb.trans' containing 'SDBMV@@'.
