You don't really use CGI scripts under Zope. Something akin to a CGI script in the Zope world would be an external method, which you must write in Python. A counter script could be implemented as an external method and possibly someone has come up with a clever way to implement one in DTML (the scripting language used by Zope which gets intertwined with HTML display).
