I have moved around my gunzipped Hotfix file through the following directories: zope, zope/lib/python/Products, zope/lib/python2.2/Products, zope/lib/python2.2/site-packages. There is no feedback however that the hotfix has been applied.

Firstly: What hotfix are you talking about? Secondly: The hotfix should be located where your other products are. This is usually [zoperoot]/lib/python/Products.
