You could check your REQUEST['PATH'] or REQUEST.steps variables... <dtml-var "REQUEST.steps[0]"> will either return the first folder name or.. <dtml-in "REQUEST.steps"> <dtml-var sequence-item> </dtml-in> Will return the PATH in an itemized list. This is a good starting place to evaluate the location you are in curently.
