sounds alright to me. are you calling it in quotes, e.g. <dtml-var "RESPONSE.redirect(REQUEST['URL3'])"> ? you shouldn't have to use the REQUEST to look up the variable, either: <dtml-var "RESPONSE.redirect(URL3)">
