[Zope] ZODBC hangs up Zope

I am using the ZODBC product in Zope 2.2.4 to connect to an Oracle data warehouse and it seems that all of Zope hangs up when there are tables being locked during updates and a sql query is done using ZODBC. I am using the ZDGchart product to summarize some data in the warehouse. It looks like the ORA-04020 error (Deadlock detected) is not being trapped and then ZODBC hangs up the rest of Zope.
