IMHO, the 1.11pre release is useful because it was available in binary form and ready to run under Windows. So, it is a useful interim development tool until 2.0 hits a beta state. I'm working on some new stuff using ZClasses and I'll probably have my things ready to roll when 2.0 is ready to be released. So, 1.11pre is useful as a development tool until there is a beta release of 2.0.
Well, 2.0a is no less or more buggy than 1.11pre, as the main difference is the addition of the ZODB3 software, but you can continue to use your ZODB2 database. I would recommend just moving to that for development---but NOT deployment.
BTW, ZClasses are really, really cool.
