[Zope] zope not working with wingate 3/winsock?

All, Anyone tried running Zope on a 98 machine with Wingate 3.0 Client running? I think this is causing my zope to fall over (to be more correct not starting) as if I use it on a 98 machine without a Wingate 3.0 Client running it works fine n dandy.. I've tried switching off the wingate 3.0 client, and adding python.exe to it's list of "excluded" programs.. all to no avail... Would be neat if I didn't have to keep swapping windows directories to run Zope, so if anyone has got around this problem please shout out. Ta Rowan
