Are you using "ZODBCDA"?
No. Only ZMysqlDa
Someone else reported similar incomprehensible differences in SQL results with "ZODBCDA". The problem disappeared when he switch to "mxZODBCDA".
I reinnstalled Mysql-python.. It now works. (someone else have been innstalling warious adapters for MSSQL, However: Later I ran a check on my tables and it found several duplicate keys (which should be uniqe) for the field i wanted to sort.
