[Zope] shared data / synchronisation

Hi, a major problem I keep having is how to share data and still avoid conflicts in Zope. I'd like to have somethig like the static variables in C++ or Java. And if I am not mistaken, that is a serious Zope-weakness which causes the many many problems with connecting to databases. If anyone of you can tell me I'm wrong and why, I'd be happy. If not: any idea how to do it? If possible: a clean solution.
