I have always had the same issue (slow ZMI speed) and just assumed it's normal... Win2k SP4, dual 500mhz proc Same issues, however extra extra slow are folders containing lots of PageTemplates. Michael Russell wrote:
Win2k is at Service Pack 4, single processer. The only other major apps are MySQL 4.0.16, CVSNT, IIS 5. This is a dev server, load and memory capacity are not an issue.
I have noticed that ZMI seems to have no problem opening and saving External Methods and Python Scripts. DTML methods and docs, though, hang for 4 or 5 seconds while loading and saving. Also, opening folders is slow.

Hi, I'm running the binary release of Zope 2.6.1 (python 2.1.3) and
Plone
1.4 on a Windows 2000 sp4 server on the local network. Recently,
I've
noticed that the ZMI has slowed almost to a crawl while viewing the
contents
of most folders (empty ones open quickly). I can't think of anything
that
has been changed recently in our config.
Things I've tried: clearing the cache, compacting the database,
restarting
the server. I'm just getting started with Zope, so I would
appreciate
some
pointers on other troubleshooting things I can try.
Thanks, Michael
