This mailing list is getting quite a bit of traffic, and I think it would be easier to organize in a newsgroup or two.
What exactly are you expecting to gain from this? Since I use Gnus[1], I don't see any difference - it's all messages. I'd be really interested to lear what you're trying to gain.
