The result you got is what is supposed to happen. By default Zope runs in 'debug' mode and doesn't unattach itself from the console. To make it unattach itself, basically making it run in the background, you need to edit the start script and remove the '-D'. See z2.py for more start options. My start script looks something like this for instance.
