[Zope] indexing and searching for a date

Hi, As I found out - you can not index numbers and therefore not search for dates using the zCatalog. But I was wondering 'bout workarounds. I thougt maybe if I could change the bobo_modification_date to one of my own. That I could search for. But that seems like a pretty crappy workaround... Ideas.... anyone ??? Has anyone modified the Zope index method to also index numbers ??
