CMF uses YYYY-MM-DD because it uses dublin core, IIRC.
Americans use MM-DD-YYY because they're dreadfully brain damaged in every aspect of measurement.
I can't ever get MM-DD or DD-MM right after living on both sides of the pond so I just use ISO.
With all my time in the Military (US), I got used to '01 jan 2001' myself. I like it today for it's clarity. Kinda obvious what month, day and year it is. ;) Bill
