Yes.. it's apparently just the Windows version that has this problem.... it's a really wierd limitation...
Yes, this works fine on the Mac. I suspect the difference is because on the Mac they are taking the http content types to figure out the content, but on Windows they are being lazy and using the file extension. Why they didn't use the same code I don't know. To make Dreamweaver on Windows happy, we name our index files "index.html" and then have a DTML method for index_html which is just <dtml-var index.html>. Most of our content people use Dreamweaver (on Macintosh and Windows) to edit Zope sites and are very happy with it.
