Point 4) is not mandatory... It works well with NTemacs and cygwin FTP.exe... It should even work with standard windows FTP client if you have an US version of windows... hi there,
has anyone managed to get emacs to directly edit test files on a zope server.
i try connecting to
www.server.com#8021:/path/to/file_html
but it says server unknown.
even dired does not work,
thanks,
kev bailey
I do this all the time with both emacs21 and xemacs 21.4. You'll need to do some basic troubleshooting:
1) Make sure standard FTP to zope works 2) Make sure ange ftp works to a standard ftp server 3) Make sure dired works (not installed by default on xemacs...) 4) Make sure you aren't working on Windows...
You path, btw, should probably be "/admin@www.server.com#8021:/filename".
