Just refer to the properties directly. For example, if the parent folder has a property named "BirdSpecies", your document can refer to it thus: <!--#var BirdSpecies-->! which might evaluate to something like: Albatross! Note that you may refer to the folder specifically, thus: <!--#var "PARENTS[0].BirdSpecies"-->! Or, if the folder's name is Spam: <!--#var "Spam.BirdSpecies"-->!
