Not exactly sure how you want your nav bar to work. On my site I have the ability to see the current documents/folders siblings and also its children (if it has any). I don't know if this is exactly what you would want for your system. You might want to look at my site (http://www.sesgroup.net) to see if this is anything like what you might need.
