[Zope] basic &dtml syntax question

example: <img src="&dtml-absolute_url;"> ^ ^ ^ ? Please can anyone explain why <&dtml...> syntax has a semi-colon ; at the end? What is for? Why is necessary? etc How to use/abuse it? thanks
