Could you check whether your Zope is started with any special parameters, especially: -t controls number of threads -t0 or -t1 would show something you see -i controls the frequency (number of Python interpreter instructions) before the Global Interpreter Lock is released and other threads get a chance to run. A very large value would be bad (several thousand). If this is not the case, then maybe, someone modified "z2.py". Or, there is some environment variable that badly affects Zope's operation... Dieter
